Biondi-Santi invented Brunello di Montalcino. That is not marketing — it is history. The Riserva from here is one of the longest-lived wines in Italy and costs accordingly. The Rosso is the same vineyard, same grape, same winemaking philosophy, released after one year in oak instead of four. Cherry, dried herbs, leather, a hint of orange peel.
