Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2023

I know what serious wine people say about Cloudy Bay. They say it is a brand, not a wine. They say Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is one-dimensional. They say the cool kids drink Greywacke or Dog Point now. They are not wrong about any of that. But they are missing the point. Cloudy Bay is the bottle that got half the wine drinkers in America to stop drinking Chardonnay and try something new. Grapefruit, passionfruit, jalapeño, grass, a mouthful of acidity that wakes up everything it touches. At $18-24 you can put this in the fridge and not think about it. Drink it on the patio with nothing. Drink it with fish tacos. Drink it because it is Tuesday and Tuesday deserves a good Sauvignon Blanc.
